I decided to get off my slightly fatter ass and go to the gym this morning and it felt GREAT!
I've been mountainbiking a few times a week for the last few months, but my diet has been horrible. In the last year, i've gained about 40lbs back from my original 150lbs loss. This sucks. I need to do more about it.
I made the jump to get back in the gym 5 times a week and will still mountainbike at least twice a week. I am recommitting myself to my health and overall wellness.

Oh man.. I really need to but every time I try I always get bogged down in work at some point and then slack off.

Thats what happened to me over the last few months. You just need to make time. Wake up earlier, work later, etc.
I did it once, I can do it again.

I walk in the mountains every second day for about three hours. If the weather sucks I am in the gym. Still eat and drink what I want, just not as much. Hangin in at 165 at the moment. BMI healthy. Porn can be good for your health. Gives you the time and money to stay healthy. What good is money and business if you are dodging heart attacks?

I work out 2-3 times a week and have totally changed my eating habits. I eat healthier and have stopped eating later at night. Now that the weather is cooling down, I'll resume my nightly walks.
I haven't gone hardcore at the gym, just slimming down and getting the ticker into better shape. Now that I'm acting on stage a couple nights a month and getting ready to expand that, I have to be in better shape because both roles are pretty physically demanding.

i am already ahead of you...
per dr's orders gym everynight and non-fat l.ow chlorestorol diet. seems if i keep the way i am going i am going to end up with a heart attack at 45.
make sure that you eat right that is the most important. get a nutritionist if you can if not there is a ton of articles online.
the thing that helps me alot i cook about 5 chicken brests on the grill sunday night and use them for salads sandwiches and anything else.
your health is nothing to mess around with.

Just take it for one month. If you aren't hooked on it after then, quit.
Anaerobic and aerobic workout at the same time. I'm down from 278lbs, to a hard 248lbs, and getting harder. I'll be 230's within 6 months.

Oh, I know exactly what I need to do. When I am working out it's easy for me to eat right. But when I break my routine everything changes. I eat like shit, no workouts, etc. It's funny.. on the days I mountain bike I eat perfect. I don't like to waste a workout.
So the trick is to make sure I get into the gym everyday.
Anthony, I've thought about the gracietampa thing. Especially after our talk about my buddy Marcus yesterday...

One last word. I had an amazing experience this morning. I looked in the mirror and my size 33 jeans didn't fit. They were falling off and my belt was on the last notch. and I need a new one. Sometimes you get it right and if feels really fucking good.

How tall are you Graham? I haven't seen the low 30's since 20 or so. I'm hovering around 36/37 pants I can wear without a belt but are loose.

I've been on a workout schedule and even managed to keep it going on the cruise. Last night Dirty D offered to pay Brazilian Martial Arts sessions, so I think I have that coming up in the near future!

The BMI is a great way to set goals and it is pretty accurate in its calculated assessment.

Brazillian? As in Capoeira or Brazillian Jiu Jitsu?
Go with BJJ if you want to learn how to fight, Capoeira is great excercise but has no real world application.

Awesome!
JOIN! Here's a vid of my last fight beginning of the month. My opponent had zero clue on how to fight on the ground, BJJ FTW!

Both my kids are in BJJ, and it's getting to the point in a year or two I won't be able to beat my son. My daughter isn't too far behind.

For MMA, yes. I would hold off doing MMA till you have some experience with BJJ. BJJ is strictly grappling, and yes you will get bruises on your arms, legs, etc. But still be careful, wear a mouthguard while your are sparring.
Here's a video of a friendly spar between me and a friend who weighs 150lbs, versus at the time, my 280lbs. BJJ definately helps you negate size difference, as technique is more important.
