is drama bad for a board

I have noticed that this board is very slow. I understand when folks say they are tired of drama, but is this what keeps a board alive? I suppose it remains to be seen.

Drama certainly keeps the trolls coming back, and keeps the board moving... but it's a distraction to real business... When you have 48 drama threads on a page, it makes the 2 business threads hard to find.

I don't think this board will ever be as busy as those other drama filled boards. We do have some things in the works to encourage active participation. I can tell you that by looking at the stats we have roughly 40% of our registered users visiting here at least once a day.

The idea we had for this board was to have no drama - no trolls - no crap - everything GFY is we dont want - Post whores and board trolls can go to many other boards - We made this as a place where our friends can go and do business - many of the members here we have known for 10+ years and we collectively don't post on drama boards - It's not productive to business and it's a huge waste of time - I know many here who have paid trolls - Thats just my thoughts on this - I hope you see what we are trying to do I think Dragon did a great job in saying this on www.industryoldschool.com entry page

The drama has been so out of control lately on other boards. IMO it is causing said boards to lose value.

this is the ONLY board i post on. hell GFY is a waste of time. sometimes i go there and lurk to read the drama about someone i might not like but never do i post there. there is no reason cause half of what you post does not get read anyway.

FWIW drama has a place in my space on the web. I call it the truth or at least how I see things.

However I think we all can agree the self pandering threads and all the latent homo erotica is pretty worthless.

Then again you have to ask yourself if thats all the person has to offer up for business?

I think they should all go ahead and come out of the closet and live out that life long dream to DJ at the cool metro clubs and call it a day.
